Jeff just left for 6 Flags. (Over Texas, duh.) I was supposed to go with him, and 12 random kids and adults in a van. However, when I got up at 4 am to get ready, I felt really poopy and decided not to go. This is my sad face : (
Call me crazy, but the thought of spending endless hours stuck in a van with 'bend me over double' cramps and an ear infection just didn't sound as appealing as it had when the trip was planned. Plus I haven't slept for the past two nights, so my patience, love, and tolerance levels may be low. So I decided to stay home and not get out in the weather. Instead, I will clean out the fish tanks and watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
If singing loudly and dancing along to the Time Warp doesn't make me feel better, then I'm pretty sure nothing will.
Plus, I don't get to watch things like that when Jeff is home. Not appropriate. Whatever. Frank-N-Furter's entrance is still the BEST entrance in a movie, EVER!!! I used to watch things like this all the time, before I got married to a pastor. Now not so much. Alas, it was great when it all began...
I've been thinking a lot about how much stuff in my life has changed, mostly for the good, but let's face it, by far more for the weird. Like when my 5 year old was suddenly watching South Park instead of Veggie Tales. Okay, maybe it wasn't suddenly. Maybe it was more like little by little over the course of some time, but still, one day you wake up and you're all like, "How did I get here?!!" (Great, now I have the Talking Heads playing in my head...way to go!!!)
But it's really like that, seriously. Most days I wake up and my first thought is, "How did I get here?". I don't mean like an alcoholic black-out 'how did I get here', either, because I quit drinking nearly 11 years ago. I mean like a middle-aged-crazy, flop-sweat-panic 'how did I get here', which is WAY DIFFERENT. I'm not necessarily saying one is better or worse than the other, (who am I to judge?), but I am saying at least I'd have an excuse for the drunken one, ya know?!!
I guess I'm really just trying to justify not going to 6 Flags. Like anyone is going to believe I'd rather clean out fish tanks than ride roller coasters. You don't know, it could happen. Mostly, I'd rather have a root canal than be in a confined space for long periods of time with ANYONE right now. It's called PMS, and it makes me feel like killing people, or stabby, as the Bloggess would say. I think there should be a rule that if you are one of the aforementioned afflicted that you shouldn't have to justify anything to anyone. So there. : P
JUST BECAUSE, damn it!!!
I'm going to go take a handful of Midol and go back to bed now...this is ridiculous...
